Pit bull dies after Nampa owners find it shot in backyard

A Nampa dog was euthanized after it was shot in it's owner's backyard and animal control is searching for answers.

Police received the report of the shot dog on the 700 block of 1st Street North on March 12. They say the owners found their dog named Tyson bleeding profusely while still tethered on their property. Tyson, a neutered male pit bull was taken to a veterinarian where he was euthanized due to his injuries.

Nampa Animal Control, along with the Canyon County Coroner’s Office and the local veterinarian where Tyson was taken, performed a medical examination and necropsy.

Nampa Animal Control is investigating this incident and is asking for the public’s help.
